«La larga guerra de Francisco Franco» is the historical essay by José Antonio Vaca de Osma, published by Rialp in paperback (352 pages, in Spanish).
The author analyses the reasons why Francisco Franco conducted the Civil War at a slow pace. It is not a chronology of the conflict nor a conventional biography: with documentation and personal testimonies, he examines Franco's political intentions, his relationship with the Monarchy and the Republic, the defence of Madrid and other strategic decisions.
First edition published in March 1991. It belongs to the Historia y Biografías collection and includes bibliographical references.
Aimed at readers interested in the history of Spain, the Civil War and the figure of Francisco Franco, both scholars and the general public.
