In 1971, Spain was in a moment of patriarchal slumber. Suddenly, an agricultural worker from Archidona (Málaga) caused panic in the town's cinema during a flamenco show. According to the court record, the 24-year-old was prosecuted for masturbating his girlfriend in public, which caused him to splash semen on the spectators sitting behind, causing damage to their clothes valued at 3,500 and 1,600 pesetas respectively. Camilo José Cela prepared the edition of these documents consisting of his own correspondence with the academic Alfonso Canales, the minutes of the trial, and a selection of letters, poems and drawings sent spontaneously to Cela by some Spaniards enraged by such an admirable display of Hispanic manhood.
