«La guerra contro Gesù» is the religious and historical essay by Antonio Socci, published by Rizzoli in hardback (440 pages, in Italian).
Antonio Socci analyses the split between the historical Jesus and the Jesus of the Gospels. Against those who reduce the Gospel accounts to oral traditions and allegories, he argues that archaeology and historical research confirm the truthfulness of the narrative about Jesus' life and, above all, his resurrection.
First edition of 2011, in the Saggi Italiani collection.
For readers interested in the history of Christianity and the debate on the historicity of the Gospels.
