«La generación del 27 visita a Don Quijote» is the collective essay by Corpus Barga and Benjamín Jarnés, published by Visor Libros in hardback (430 pages, in Spanish).
A collection of essays in which writers of the Generation of '27, such as Jorge Guillén, Gerardo Diego, Rosa Chacel or Francisco Ayala, analyse Cervantes's work. The book explores how these authors saw in Don Quixote a combination of tradition and avant-garde, and were less interested in its characters than in Cervantes's point of view and technique of composition. The selection of texts, prepared by Jesús García Sánchez, also includes less canonical voices from the group.
Fourth volume in the Biblioteca Cervantina collection from Visor Libros, with a prologue and edition by Jenaro Talens.
For readers interested in the history of Spanish literature and in literary criticism on Cervantes and the Generation of '27.

Benjamín Jarnés Y Millán was a Spanish writer. Having been a soldier for a decade, he quit the army in 1920 and published his first novel in 1924. His second novel El profesor inútil met with success and was followed by books such as El convidado de papel (1928) and Teoría del zumbel (1930). He was one of the contributors of the Madrid-based Revista de Occidente and the Valencia-based Orto magazine between 1932 and 1934.
