«La demoiselle des glaciers» is the romantic novel by Monique Brossard-Le Grand, published by V.D.B. in 2003 in paperback and in French.
Marie Chardon leaves Tignes, where her village has been submerged by a reservoir, and settles in Chamonix to work as a ski instructor. There she falls in love with Cyril and shares his passion for the mountains, although convention prevents women from mountaineering. When tragedy strikes, Marie must choose between her health and the child she is expecting.
It is a new episode in the author's mountain saga, after «Elise des montagnes» and «Marie des torrents».
For those who enjoy rural novels and love stories set in the Alps.
