«La dama del alba» is the play by Alejandro Casona, published by Editorial Teide in paperback (176 pages, in Spanish).
Set in rural Asturias, the play follows a family marked by the disappearance of the protagonist's wife, drowned in the river. The arrival of a mysterious pilgrim, the lady of the dawn, awakens the destiny and memory of the house. With a poetic and legendary tone, Casona weaves together life and death, reality and fantasy, and love as a force against loss.
Published in 2006, it belongs to the Biblioteca Teide collection, number 17, and includes an introduction, footnotes, a reading guide and colour illustrations.
Aimed at secondary school students and readers who want to approach Casona's theatre with the support of an annotated edition.

Alejandro Rodríguez Álvarez, known as Alejandro Casona was a Spanish poet and playwright born in Besullo, Spain, a member of the Generation of '27. Casona received his bachelor's degree in Gijon and later studied at the University of Murcia. After Franco's rise in 1936, he was forced, like many Spanish intellectuals, to leave Spain. He lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina until April 1962, when he definitively returned to Spain.
