La crise des années 30 est devant nous

Synopsis of La crise des années 30 est devant nous

«La crise des années 30 est devant nous» is the economic and historical essay by François Lenglet, published by Perrin in paperback (157 pages, in French).

François Lenglet compares the Great Depression of 1929 with the 2008 financial crisis: easy money, excessive debt, social unrest and distrust of elites, and predicts an ideological turn against liberalism and globalisation. Lenglet recalls that national retrenchment and democratic weakness led to depression and war.

The 2008 edition, revised and expanded from the 2007 original, received the Prix spécial du Jury of the Prix d'Excellence Économique.

For readers interested in economic history and the parallels between the Great Depression and the 2008 financial crisis.
