«La abadía fantasma» is the mystery and horror novel by Robert Westall, published by Timun Mas in 1991 in paperback (247 pages, in Spanish).
Maggi moves with her family to a ruined abbey in England, where her widowed father works on the restoration. She soon discovers that both she and the building harbour ghosts of the past: the house exerts a dark power that attracts its inhabitants to protect and preserve it, and it is not willing to let them go.
The original work was published in 1988 under the title «Ghost Abbey» and is part of the «Hippo Hauntings» series.
For young adult and adult readers seeking a classic ghost story set in a ruined English abbey.

Robert Atkinson Westall was an English author and teacher known for fiction aimed at children and young people. Some of the latter cover complex, dark, and adult themes. He has been called "the dean of British war novelists". His first book, The Machine Gunners, won the 1975 Carnegie Medal for the year's outstanding children's book by a British subject. It was named among the top ten Medal-winners at the 70th anniversary celebration in 2007. Westall also won a second Carnegie, a Smarties Prize, and the once-in-a-lifetime Guardian Prize.
