«Kuma. Historia del África negra» is the historical essay by Ferran Iniesta, published by Bellaterra in paperback (304 pages, in Spanish).
A work of historical synthesis that covers Africa's past from ancient times to the present, with attention to the continent's elites, social structures and cultures. Against the static image usually disseminated, it proposes analytical models for reflecting on its configuration, from a dual synchronic and evolutionary perspective.
Published in 2007 in the Biblioteca de Estudios Africanos collection by Bellaterra. Ferran Iniesta, a specialist in African political processes, has taught in Dakar and Antananarivo.
Initially aimed at university students, though accessible to the general reading public interested in African history.
