«Kornél Esti. Un héroe de su tiempo» is the novel by Hungarian writer Dezsö Kosztolányi, published by Bruguera in paperback (320 pages, in Spanish).
An established writer, settled into bourgeois life, evokes Kornél Esti, a friend from his youth and an irreverent bohemian for whom life matters more than literature. Between the two, a pact is made: one lives, the other turns that life into stories. The tales depict literary creation and the human condition with irony and a grotesque tone.
The translation from Hungarian is by Mária Szijj; the original title is «Esti Kornél». The edition appeared on 21 February 2007 in Bruguera's Narrativa collection.

Dezső Kosztolányi was a Hungarian writer, journalist, translator, and also a speaker of Esperanto. He wrote in all literary genres, from poetry to essays to theatre plays. Building his own style, he used French symbolism, impressionism, expressionism and psychological realism. He is considered the father of futurism in Hungarian literature.
