«Kamikazes» is the historical essay by Albert Axell and Hideaki Kase, published by La Esfera de los Libros in paperback (524 pages, in Spanish).
It examines who the Japanese kamikaze pilots of World War II were, what drove them to sacrifice their lives for their country, and why they considered it an honour. The authors analyse the wartime context and Japanese culture, with testimonies and cases on the mentality of these combatants.
The work was originally published in English as «Kamikaze: Japan's Suicide Gods» (2002); this Spanish edition appeared in May 2005.
Aimed at readers interested in the military history of World War II and Japanese culture.
