«Juana de Arco. La historia de la Doncella de Orleans» is the historical novel by Pamela Marcantel, published by Edhasa in paperback (792 pages, in Spanish).
The novel reconstructs the life of Joan of Arc (1412-1431), from her emergence on the public scene to her final trial, and places it in the turbulent years of fifteenth-century France. Pamela Marcantel combines historical fidelity and narrative recreation to show the evolution of the Maid of Orleans and the world around her, apart from partisan readings.
Work originally published as «An Army of Angels: A Novel of Joan of Arc»; the Spanish edition appeared in 1998 in the Narrativas Históricas collection by Edhasa.
For readers of historical fiction interested in fifteenth-century France and in fictionalized biographies of great female figures.
