«Johannes Brahms» is the biography of the composer written by Luis Carlos Gago Badenas, published by Edilibro in Spanish.
The book follows Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) from Hamburg to his settling in Vienna. It recounts the support of Schumann, who proclaimed him a genius when Brahms was twenty, and his time as a choir director in Germany. It describes his bold harmony and his respect for traditional forms, and stresses that, unlike Wagner, he did not write operas.
Published in 1994 in the collection «La gran música paso a paso».
For readers interested in classical music and in biographies of nineteenth-century composers.
