«Jo confesso» is the contemporary novel by Jaume Cabré, published by Labutxaca in paperback (1008 pages, in Catalan).
Adrià grows up among old books and secrets in the family antiques shop, where an eighteenth-century violin is kept around which stories revolve. Jo confesso is a long love letter from someone who played in solitude, loved unconditionally, and bore the guilt of a violent death, without understanding the evil that runs through the history of the West.
The work was awarded the Premi de la Crítica de Narrativa Catalana 2012, the Premi Crítica Serra d'Or 2012, and the Premi Joan Crexells, among other honours.
For readers of literary fiction who prefer lengthy novels with several interwoven stories.
