«Introducción a la mitología» is Lewis Spence's essay on mythology, published by Edimat Libros in hardback (352 pages, in Spanish).
A classic guide whose original edition dates from 1921: it sets out the methods of myth specialists and orders the world's mythical stories by theme and origin. Spence argues that behind every myth lie the great human questions —the creation of the cosmos, the origin of man and the destiny after death—, present in different traditions.
The Spanish edition, translated by María Victoria Tealdo and Diana Gibson, corresponds to An Introduction to Mythology, originally published in 1921, and belongs to the Mitología collection.
Suitable both for the mythology scholar and for the amateur reader seeking a first approach to the subject.

James Lewis Thomas Chalmers Spence was a Scottish journalist, poet, author, folklorist and occult scholar. Spence was a Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland, and vice-president of the Scottish Anthropological and Folklore Society. He founded the Scottish National Movement.
