Like a long winter dream, this novel by Han Kang travels between contemporary South Korea and its painful history. When Gyeongha travels to Jeju Island to help her friend Inseon, she discovers a meticulous archive documenting one of the worst massacres in Korean history. It is a powerful indictment against forgetting and a hymn to friendship.
