Antonio José Bolívar Proaño lives in seclusion in El Idilio, a small town on the banks of the Amazon River. After a life marked by hardship and loss, he finds solace in reading romance novels, which allow him to escape the harsh reality of the jungle. When a feline begins to terrorize the community, Antonio, thanks to his deep knowledge of nature and his connection with the Shuar Indians, becomes the only one capable of confronting the beast. This masterpiece by Luis Sepúlveda is a tribute to nature and a profound reflection on loneliness and human dignity.
