«Il principio del dolore» is Adam Haslett's short story collection, published by Einaudi in hardback (222 pages, in Italian).
Nine stories about characters on the margins of society due to illness, often mental, the violent death of their parents, or the terrible gift of premonition. Haslett narrates them with raw, sustained sincerity, making pain and loss the centre of lives that have not chosen their fate.
Series «Einaudi. Stile libero big» (no. 1074); translation by Giovanna Granato; original work «You Are Not a Stranger Here».
For readers of literary fiction and short stories who appreciate tales about mental health, loss, and characters on the margins of society.
