In 'Hotel Silencio', Auður Ava Ólafsdóttir introduces us to Jónas, a man on the brink. After being abandoned by his wife and facing the advance of his mother's dementia, he discovers that his daughter is not biological. Determined to disappear, he embarks on a journey to a country devastated by war. However, his plan is interrupted by the damages of the Hotel Silencio, where he is staying, and the needs of its inhabitants. With humor and subtlety, Ólafsdóttir shows us how personal wounds only heal in community, offering a story of redemption and hope in the midst of adversity.
