«Historia» is the historical essay by Herodotus, published by Ediciones Cátedra in paperback (936 pages, in Spanish).
Herodotus travelled through the cultural centres of the ancient world and gathered in this work a wide collection of reports on the customs and institutions of Greeks and barbarians. His account links these descriptions with the narrative of the struggle of the Greek cities against the Persian Empire.
The work belongs to the Letras Universales collection of Ediciones Cátedra (no. 274). This fourth edition, edited by Manuel Balasch, includes an introduction, bibliography and notes.
For enthusiasts and students of ancient history and classical Greek literature.

Herodotus was a Greek historian and geographer from the Greek city of Halicarnassus, under Persian control in the 5th century BC, and a later citizen of Thurii in modern Calabria, Italy. He wrote the Histories, a detailed account of the Greco-Persian Wars, among other subjects such as the rise of the Achaemenid dynasty of Cyrus. He has been described as "The Father of History", a title conferred on him by the ancient Roman orator Cicero.
