«Gran río del espacio» is the science fiction novel by Gregory Benford, published by Ediciones B in paperback (542 pages, in Spanish).
On the planet Nieveclara humans live as nomads: machines called mecs dominate the world and have destroyed the Citadels. The Bishop family discovers the Mantis, a new type of mec capable of causing «total death», preventing memories from being stored on chips and reused.
The novel is the third installment of the Galactic Center Cycle, originally published in English as Great Sky River in 1987.
A space opera for readers of hard science fiction and galactic sagas.
Gregory Benford is an American science fiction author and astrophysicist who is professor emeritus at the department of physics and astronomy at the University of California, Irvine. He is a contributing editor of Reason magazine.
