«Georg B.» is the fictionalised biography by Frederik Hetmann, published by Beltz und Gelberg in paperback (160 pages, in German).
The book follows Georg B., a student in Gießen, on his night walk of 1 August 1834 to Offenbach to warn the members of the human rights society he himself founded. They are all in danger: Carl Minnigerode has been arrested with 139 copies of «Der Hessische Landbote», the revolutionary pamphlet Büchner co-wrote.
The full subtitle is «oder Büchner lief zweimal von Gießen nach Offenbach und wieder zurück»; it belongs to the Gulliver collection.
It will appeal to those who want to learn about Georg Büchner and the revolutionary unrest in 1830s Germany.
