The unit fights in Holland, holds out at Bastogne, and reaches Berchtesgaden, Hitler's eagle's nest. Ambrose uses archives and survivors' testimonies to reconstruct the campaign.
Originally published in 1992 as «Band of Brothers»; it was adapted for television by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. The French edition was published in 2004.
