«Esclava» is the autobiographical account by Mende Nazer and Damien Lewis, published by RBA in hardback in 2005 (319 pages, in Spanish).
Mende Nazer, a Sudanese woman, recounts how she was kidnapped as a child in her village and sold as a domestic slave, ending up in London, where she served a wealthy family. Her testimony describes that double life of abuse and loneliness, and her escape, through which she regained her freedom and denounced a slavery that still exists today.
Translation by Ana Mendoza of the English original 'Slave'. Cover subtitle: «Una historia real de esclavitud en pleno siglo XXI»; Testimonios de mujer collection.
