«Errepidea» is the young adult novel by Miren Agur Meabe, published by Erein Argitaletxea in paperback (72 pages, in Basque).
The narrator lives in a caravan and is used to moving from place to place: when her mother starts talking to herself, she knows they will soon be on the road again. Tired of saying goodbye, she avoids forming close bonds and compares herself to birds, always in flight so that nothing and no one can catch her, though the road keeps pulling at her.
With illustrations by Aitziber Alonso Pikabea, it is number 41 in the Auskalo Bumeran collection and received the Euskadi Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature in 2011.
Aimed at readers aged 10 to 13, it lends itself to school reading and to teenagers who do not usually read.
Miren Agur Meabe Plaza is a Basque poet, prose writer, author of books for children and young adults and a translator. In 2021, she was the first author to win the Spanish Ministry of Culture's National Poetry Award for a work in Basque.
