«Entre chien et poulpe» is the children's picture book by Martin McKenna, published by Tom Poche in paperback (32 pages, in French).
Edgar dreams of having a dog, but on his birthday he receives Jarvis, an octopus with a hat and cane. Edgar tries to train him like a dog, though Jarvis always does the unexpected. Between scares and antics, the story shows that what matters is not that he is a dog, but that he is a friend.
Aimed at children aged 3 and up, with visual humour and an unusual friendship at the heart of the story.
