«El testigo invisible» is the historical novel by Carmen Posadas, published by Booket in paperback (464 pages, in Spanish).
Leonid Sednev, chimney sweep and kitchen boy to the Romanovs, recalls in his old age the night of 17 July 1918, when the Bolsheviks executed the imperial family; he was the only survivor. Through the servant's eyes, the novel recreates the decline of the empire and the triumph of the Revolution, between the splendour of the court and the misery.
The work originally appeared in 2013; this Booket edition was published on 8 April 2014 and is part of the Novela collection.
Readers of historical fiction interested in pre-revolutionary Russia and the fate of the Russian imperial family.
