«El segundo anillo de poder» is the fifth book in Carlos Castaneda's don Juan teachings series, published by Gaia Ediciones in paperback.
In this installment, Castaneda returns to Mexico to reunite with his companions Pablito and Néstor after a leap into the void whose reality questions his own reason. The encounter leads to a final assault on his rationality, planned by don Juan, and to the exposition of the art of dreaming and the idea that each person is born with a ring of power that connects them to the world; the man of knowledge develops a second ring, that of not-doing, with which he can create other worlds.
Gaia Ediciones published this 344-page work in the Nagual collection; the edition corresponds to the translation of the original "The Second Ring of Power", which appeared in 1977.

Carlos Castaneda was a Peruvian-American writer, trained as an anthropologist. Starting in 1968, Castaneda published a series of books that describe alleged training in shamanism that he received under the tutelage of a Yaqui "Man of Knowledge" named Don Juan Matus. While Castaneda's work was accepted as factual by many when the books were first published, the character of Don Juan and the training he described is now generally considered to be fabricated and to have little relation to the actual cultural practices of the Yaqui. Castaneda's early writings featuring Don Juan were bestsellers with the general public, and are considered to be a significant influence on neoshamanism and the New Age movement more broadly.
