«El quadern gris» is the diary of Josep Pla, published by Círculo de Lectores in paperback (711 pages, in Catalan).
The diary runs from March 1918 to November 1919; its author, a young Josep Pla, moves between the Ampurdán and Noucentista Barcelona, with university life studying law as a backdrop. Through encounters and everyday scenes, he portrays his character and the world around him.
