«El origen de El Señor de los Anillos» is Lin Carter's essay, published by Ediciones B in paperback (218 pages, in Spanish).
Lin Carter traces the literary sources of J.R.R. Tolkien's great work through the heroic sagas that preceded it, from Greek to Norse mythology, and shows how those epic tales inspired his fantasy world. The volume also serves as a gateway to the Tolkien universe for those unfamiliar with it.
Essay originally published in English in 1969 as «Tolkien: A Look Behind The Lord of the Rings»; this Spanish edition was published in 2006.
Recommended for Tolkien fans and for those wishing to begin exploring his fantasy universe.
