«El mundo en la agonía» is Miguel Delibes's essay on the ecological crisis, published by Círculo de Lectores in paperback (105 pages, in Spanish).
Miguel Delibes reflects on the degradation of the natural environment and denounces the consequences of industrialisation and of progress understood as the domination of nature. The essay calls for an ecological awareness that restores human beings to their place within the planet's balance and warns against indifference to a crisis that affects everyone.
The work was originally published as «Un mundo que agoniza» in 1979; this 1988 edition is illustrated by Celestino Piatti.
For readers interested in environmentalist thought and in the work of Miguel Delibes.
