«El mallorquín» is the historical novel by Juan José Valle Torrado, published by Ediciones Apóstrofe in paperback (702 pages, in Spanish).
The novel reconstructs the life of Yahya ben Ganya al-Mayurqy, a historical figure from medieval Mallorca who for over fifty years opposed the Almohad empire and its emperor Yacub al-Mansur. The work recovers a figure almost unknown in Spain despite his relevance abroad.
2003 edition, part of Apóstrofe's Historical Novel collection; includes colour photographs.
For readers of historical fiction interested in medieval Mallorca and the Almohad world.
