«El ladrón de tumbas» is the historical novel by Antonio Cabanas, published by RBA Coleccionables in hardback (465 pages, in Spanish).
It is the reign of Ramesses III. Shepsenuré, son and grandson of thieves, and his son Nemenhat drag their lives along the roads of an Egypt untouched by the opulence of the pharaonic court. Misery and the instinct for survival drive them to commit the worst possible crime in that land: plundering tombs.
This edition, published in 2006, bears the subtitle Historical Novel of Egypt and includes a final bibliography (pages 463-465).
For fans of period stories set in ancient Egypt and tales with a social backdrop.
