«El jardinero» is the lyrical poetry collection by Rabindranath T. Tagore published by Ediciones Busma in paperback (124 pages, in Spanish).
The book brings together lyrical poems that Rabindranath Tagore wrote about love and life before the religious compositions of Gitanjali; translations from Bengali are not always literal and sometimes summarise or paraphrase the originals.
It belongs to the P.P.P. collection (no. 4), with translation by Enrique López Castellón and prologue by Manuel A. Penella. 1984 edition published in Madrid.
For readers of classical poetry and twentieth-century Indian literature.
Rabindranath Tagore was a Bengali poet, author, playwright, musician, composer, philosopher, social reformer, painter, and one of the foremost figures of the Bengal Renaissance. In 1913, Tagore became the first Indian and non-European to win a Nobel Prize in any category, and also the first lyricist to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. A significant moulder of culture within Bengal and the Indian subcontinent, he wrote and composed the national anthems of India and Bangladesh.
