«El infierno» is the novel by René Belletto published by Circe in hardback, in Spanish.
Michel Soler, alone in a city deserted and scorched by summer, is ready for anything. An adverse fate puts equally fatal men and women in his path, among them a diabolical and adorable child, and drags him into a machination of terrors, violences, deaths, and loves that seem from this world and another.
Originally published in French as «L'Enfer» in 1986, the novel reached Spanish in a translation by Joan Vinyoli; the Spanish edition is from Circe Ediciones, Barcelona.
René Belletto is a French writer, and winner of the Prix Femina, 1986, for L'Enfer.
