In 'The Collector of Lost Souls', Irene Gracia introduces us to the world of Anatol Chat and his family, dedicated to the manufacture of automatons and obsessed with encompassing and understanding the world. The novel unfolds in two narrative planes: the life of Anatol, a storyteller who comes to kill with his word, and the stories he builds, which enclose warnings and curses. These planes configure a narration where the logical and the fantastic come together, evoking the tradition of the novel-story from the Decameron to Frankenstein.
