«Don Juan» is the political biography that Luis María Anson devoted to Don Juan de Borbón, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardback (478 pages, in Spanish).
Anson, a direct witness to events, reconstructs the figure of Don Juan de Borbón, Count of Barcelona, as a claimant to the Spanish throne. He narrates from the departure of Alfonso XIII to the consolidation of the monarchy under Juan Carlos I, and includes the letter in which Franco informed the Count that he had appointed Don Juan Carlos as his successor.
Don Juan de Borbón was Count of Barcelona and head of the Spanish Royal House between 1941 and 1977. Luis María Anson belonged to Don Juan de Borbón's Privy Council and to his Political Secretariat.
For readers interested in the contemporary history of Spain and the role of the monarchy during the twentieth century.
