«Die Töchter der Kälte» is the crime novel by Camilla Läckberg, published by Aufbau-Verlag in 2009 in paperback (474 pages, in German).
A fisherman from Fjällbacka finds the body of a seven-year-old girl in his nets. The evidence suggests she was drowned in fresh water, not the sea, and the case unsettles life in the small coastal town. Patrik Hedström and Erica Falck investigate as family grudges and an old guilt hidden behind the idyllic facade come to light.
Third novel in the Fjällbacka series, featuring Patrik Hedström and Erica Falck. Originally published in Swedish as «Stenhuggaren»; in 2005, nominated for the Swedish Academy of Crime Fiction Award.
Audience interested in Scandinavian crime fiction and police thrillers set in a small-town atmosphere.
