«Die Olchis sind da» is the children's fantasy book by Erhard Dietl, published by Oetinger in hardback (54 pages, in German).
The Olchis are very peculiar green creatures who live happily among rubbish and mud: they smell odd, are accompanied by flies and eat old tins and tyres. They are so lazy that they only interrupt their sunbathing nap when one of them has a wild idea, and the grimy becomes the setting for adventures.
«Die Olchis sind da» belongs to the reading series «Sonne, Mond und Sterne» and is aimed at pupils in years 2 and 3 («2./3. Klasse»). The edition is listed as «Neuauflage» (4th edition).
The book is intended for children starting to read in German and for primary classes wanting a reading with zany humour.
