Set in the tenth-century Japanese court, the plot begins when the theft of a personal diary makes its secrets circulate through the imperial palace. Two women in the empress's service have fallen in love with the same courtier, an intriguer exiled for seducing the vestal of Ise, and that triangle unleashes jealousy and hidden passions.
First novel by Julith Jedamus; it was originally published in English as The Book of Loss (2005) before the Booket edition in Spanish.
For readers of historical and romantic fiction, especially those who enjoy stories set in tenth-century Japan.
