«Der Traum des Ruhelosen» is the anthology of travel writings and essays by Bruce Chatwin, published by Fischer in paperback (250 pages, in German).
Der Traum des Ruhelosen brings together seventeen stories, articles, essays and travel chronicles written by Bruce Chatwin over twenty years and compiled after his death by Jan Borm and Matthew Graves. The texts move between nomadism and sedentary civilisation, possession and renunciation, with stops in Timbuktu and Tuscany.
The German edition derives from the original selection Anatomy of Restlessness: Selected Writings 1969-1989, prepared by Jan Borm and Matthew Graves.
Recommended for readers of travel literature and essays, as well as for followers of Bruce Chatwin's work.

Charles Bruce Chatwin was an English travel writer, novelist and journalist. His first book, In Patagonia (1977), established Chatwin as a travel writer, although he considered himself instead a storyteller, interested in bringing to light unusual tales. He won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for his novel On the Black Hill (1982), while his novel Utz (1988) was shortlisted for the Booker Prize. In 2008 The Times ranked Chatwin as number 46 on their list of "50 Greatest British Writers Since 1945".
