«Der letzte Dienstag» is the story by Katharina Kirsch, published by BoD – Books on Demand in hardback (76 pages, in German).
Elise, retired and alone, has a husband who, though dead, shows up every Tuesday at five at home, freshly shaved and with his favourite tea, as if nothing had happened. It doesn't bother her: even the dead can be punctual. When they threaten to demolish her house, that routine wobbles and Elise must consider how to let go of someone who's already gone.
The full title is «Der letzte Dienstag. Life is a Story – story.one». The work was published on 9 June 2025 within the story.one collection.
An intimate, bittersweet story with a touch of humour, for readers who enjoy short tales about grief and the ability to let go.
