«De Patrick Melrose-romans» is the collection of novels by Edward St. Aubyn, published by Prometheus in hardback (928 pages, in Dutch).
The collection follows Patrick Melrose, of the British upper class, from a childhood marked by abuse to an adult life of addictions. With black humour and mordant irony, St. Aubyn portrays the privileges, hypocrisies and wounds of a closed class, and the search for redemption of its protagonist.
Part of the Patrick Melrose saga; Dutch translation by Nicolette Hoekmeijer.
For readers of contemporary literary fiction who appreciate social satire and black humour.
Edward St Aubyn is an English author and journalist. He is the author of eleven novels, including notably the semi-autobiographical Patrick Melrose novels. In 2006, Mother's Milk was shortlisted for the Booker Prize.
