«De la Tierra a la Luna» is the science fiction novel by Jules Verne, published by Plaza & Janés in paperback (200 pages, in Spanish).
The members of the Gun-Club conceive an ambitious plan: to build a giant cannon, the Columbiad, to launch a projectile to the Moon. Jules Verne combines satire of the American spirit of the era with a detailed scientific exposition and turns the feat into an adventure full of humour that anticipates space travel.
«De la Tierra a la Luna» was originally published in 1865 under the title «De la Terre à la Lune» and opens the Baltimore Gun Club series.
Recommended for readers aged 9 and up looking for a classic adventure with a scientific basis.
Jules Gabriel Verne was a French novelist, poet, and playwright.
