«Dans le sillage de l'invincible Armada» is the historical travel narrative by Laurent Joffrin, a paperback from Editions Paulsen (169 pages, in French).
Laurent Joffrin sails his yacht in the wake of the Spanish fleet that in 1588 attempted to conquer the kingdom of Elizabeth I of England. He alternates the account of that naval campaign, with Medina Sidonia and Francis Drake, with the adventures of his own voyage along the British coasts, blending history and seafaring adventure.
The work received the Prix Éric Tabarly 2019, the Prix Albatros Sail the World 2019, and a special mention from the Prix Mémoires de la Mer 2019.
For fans of maritime history, the Spanish Armada, and sailing travel narratives.
