Synopsis of Crónicas romanas
Crónicas Romanas es una obra de teatro escrita por Alfonso Sastre. La obra presenta un gran mural contra el imperialismo, recogiendo la colonización de la península ibérica por los romanos y dos episodios de la resistencia a la ocupación. En la primera parte, se rinde homenaje a Ernesto Che Guevara en la figura del guerrillero lusitano Viriato, mientras que en la segunda, el autor se inclina ante el heroísmo vietnamita contra los ejércitos norteamericanos, a través de una versión muy libre de la "Numancia" de Cervantes.

Alfonso Sastre was a Spanish playwright, essayist, and critic associated with the Generation of '36 movement. He was an outspoken critic of censorship during the reign of General Francisco Franco and the ensuing political regime arising from the 1978 Constitution altogether. His most noteworthy plays include Death Squad (1953), The Gag (1954), Death Thrust (1960), and Tragicomedy of the Gypsy Celestina (1984).
