«Cop d'ull» is a linguistics book by Diana Cot and Marta Folia, published by La galera in hardback (112 pages, in Catalan).
It collects 50 everyday Catalan idioms, grouped by what they express: what happens to us, how we are, what we do, or chance. For each one it offers its equivalent in Spanish, the literal translation, the definition and a usage example, accompanied by illustrations that depict the literal image of the expression.
Fifth volume in the El Bagul collection from La Galera, published in 1998. The illustrations are by Pedro Espinosa.
Recommended for ages 12 and up, aimed at anyone who wants to learn colloquial Catalan and its expressions.
