«Confesiones de un burgués» is the memoir by Sándor Márai, published by Salamandra in paperback (480 pages, in Spanish).
Márai recalls his childhood and youth in a bourgeois family of Saxon origin in Hungary, evoking the Central European world destroyed by the First World War. The narrative combines his reading, literary vocation, journalism, travels through interwar Europe, and the uprootedness that leads him to take refuge in writing.
It belongs to the Salamandra Narrativa collection, in its 13th edition, and the original text is Hungarian.
For readers aged 16 and over interested in Central European literature and twentieth-century writers' memoirs.
Sándor Márai was a Hungarian writer, poet, and journalist.
