«Casi inocentes» is the novel by Pedro Ugarte published by Lengua de Trapo in paperback, with 222 pages, in Spanish.
The protagonist claims that the only memorable thing in his life has been having a son; when a stranger saves the boy from certain death, he wonders what debt binds him to the one who returned him. From this moral dilemma emerges a fable about parenthood, family and work relationships, and the situation of the immigrant, with intrigue and an unexpected ending.
Winner of the 10th Lengua de Trapo Narrative Prize, this edition belongs to the Nueva Biblioteca collection (no. 89) and was published in Madrid in 2004.
A work for readers of contemporary Spanish-language fiction, particularly those seeking plots with moral dilemmas, family relationships, and psychological tension.
