«Calendas griegas» is the modern fiction novel by Gesualdo Bufalino, published by Editorial Anagrama in 1993 in hardback (240 pages, in Spanish).
The work recreates an imaginary life through stereotyped episodes that, as in popular prints, go from the cradle to the grave. Those days that never were are narrated with such skill that the story oscillates between memory and fable, in a game about what could have been and was not.
First edition, number 288 of the Panorama de narrativas collection, published in Barcelona; translation by Joaquín Jordá.
For readers of contemporary fiction interested in Italian literature and in narrative games with memory and biography.
Gesualdo Bufalino, was an Italian writer who lived in Sicily for most of his life.
